Member Blogs

mhwgmemberblog2017The following is an alphabetical list of those blogs and sites that are currently members of the Mental Health Writers’ Guild and who are thus entitled to display the Guild Membership Logo on their sites…

If you are a writer or blogger who writes about mental health and mental well-being or if you are interested in these topics why not consider checking out their blogs…

(Please note that due to the nature of blogging, blogs sometimes come and go and it is not always possible – due to the limitation of resources – for us to keep up with the comings and goings of blogs.  I apologize for this but if you click on a link below and find that the blog/site is no longer in operation please contact us and let us know through the comment section below.

Where possible any site which has it’s access as being password protected will be identified with the statement “Marked as Private Access” or “Site Marked as Private Access” followed by the date that this was reported to us.  Sometimes this is done so that the owner of that blog or site can do some housekeeping to it.  But very often it is done as the owner of that blog or site is considering closing it or taking a break from blogging.  We, of course, have no way of knowing which is the motivation behind each example.

Many Thanks.)

Displaying the 2017 Member Blog Logo on your blog…

Is always a good thing to do and can be a fairly straight forward exercise.  Explaining how to do so here on this page is far from straight forward however.

This is because when the code (which is used to display the logo on your blog) is typed into a page it causes conflicts as the WordPress platform naturally tries to either execute or remove that code.

Because of this it is far easier to send this code via email.  So if you wish to have a copy of it please do feel free to email me at: mentalhealthwritersguild@gmail.com

Many thanks.

Kind regards and God bless you.

Kevin

  1. I have checked out the other blogs that are joining in this endeaver and began following the ones that I hadn’t already been following. I am excited to get to know these wonderful people and learning so much from them. anyone who wants to make contact with my can call me Carla, thats for you too kevin!

  2. I am so sorry. I thought that I replied to this comment earlier and it is only today that I noticed that I had somehow neglected to do so. My aoplogies for this.

The membership list is growing and I am delighted that so many wonderful blogs and bloggers are part of the Guild.

I really do hope that the guild can help each of us get acquainted with other bloggers who write about mental health and am encouraged that this is something you are willing to do. I am of the opinion that we all need encouragement and support in life and who better to get that from than folk who have a fairly good idea of some of the things we face.

    KInd Regards.

    Kevin.

  3. Just reminding everyone that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, with two main areas of focus: 1. “Do More for 1 in 4”: A call to help the one in four people with a diagnosable mental illness; and 2. “Healing Trauma’s Invisible Wounds,” looking at the impact of traumatic events on both individuals and communities at large. See http://www.mentalhealthamerica.net/go/may for details and downloadable tool kits. Best, Candida

  4. Thank you.

I am very happy to become a member of the Guild.

  5. Look how your enterprise has grown, Kevin. You have really filled a needed niche-and should be quite proud if your contributions TI mental health online.

    • Hi Candida,

Thank you that really is very kind of you but all I do is facilitate, it is the members themselves who make this group so special.
      Hope you are well.
Kind Regards and God bless you.

  7. Hi there

Just wondering if you’d consider adding my site, At the Mountains of Madness, please? Thanks very much in advance for looking 🙂

    My best

    Karen

    • Hi Karen,

Many thanks for getting in touch regarding membership to the Mental Health Writers’ Guild.

Having had a chance to pop across and check out your blog ‘At The Mountains of Madness’ I am more than happy to include it in our Guild Members List and in fact have just done exactly that.

I should perhaps explain that in response to the stigma that is out there concerning mental illness, and out of respect for those bloggers who have decided to remain anonymous in their blogging, Guild Membership (and the permission to display our logo) is given specific to blogs and not blog owners.

Please feel free to explore the blog and please do take some time to check out our Membership and Guild Members Pages. Additionally please feel free to email me a bio for our Member’s Profile feature (More about this can be found here

As a member you are perfectly welcome to display the Guild Member’s logo on the aforementioned blog and this can be copied from the Guild Members Page and at the foot of that page there are also some tips on how to display the logo should you need them.

Over the next few days I hope to be able to visit your blog and spend a little more time getting to know you and your writing, So all that remains if for me to officially say “Welcome to our little band of bloggers” and “if there is anything I can do to help please just let me know.”

Kind Regards and God bless you.
      Kevin

      • Thank you so much Kevin 🙂 I am pleased to be part of this and look forward to checking out everyone’s blogs and making new friends. Thank you for your kind words and take care in the meantime.

        My best 🙂

        Karen

  8. […] I wanted to check out — especially those listed in The Mental Health Writers’ Guild (https://mentalhealthwritersguild.wordpress.com/guild-members/) — and some whose blogs I began reading just weighed me down because of all the bad things […]

  9. Thank you much Kevin for adding me to this esteemed list!

  10. Congratulations Moose!!

  11. Hi Kevin, I’ve tried to add the logo to my page by following the instructions, however it doesn’t seem to show up – not sure why! Do you have any idea what I might’ve done wrong? Also, I wasn’t sure if you noticed that where you have put “Further information concening the Guild can be foundhere.” there is no link back to this page.
    Thanks, Anxious Elephant

  12. Hi Kevin. I hope this finds you well. I wanted to let you know that I’m blogging at Sunny With a Chance of Armageddon now. I know it’s been awhile, but I do fully intend on getting on board with the guild and joining up. The announcement will be official today.

    xx Lulu

    • Hey Lulu,

Great to hear from you 🙂

No worries at all I have added “Sunny With A Chance of Armageddon” to our Guild members page and am delighted to do so 🙂

No worries about how long it has been or how long it takes, just know you are loved and respected and always welcome and progess things in your own timing. 🙂

Kind Regards and God bless you.
      Kevin.

  14. Hi, where do I find the 2014 members badge to put on my page please?

  15. Hi Kevin,

thanks for letting me join 🙂
I’ve now set up the page here 🙂 http://throughthecallingtrees.wordpress.com/the-mental-health-writers-guild/

    all the best,
    Dove

  16. Hello Kevin,

I would love to be part of the guild. I began blogging a year ago as part of my journey through depression, anxiety and PTSD. If I can help one person feel they are not alone, I would be thrilled. I’m at http://www.stillalive2013.wordpress.com.

    Thanks!

    • Hi SA2013,

Many thanks for getting in touch and letting me know about your site “stillalive2013”.

I am pleased to be able to tell you that I have just popped over and visited the site and I am more than happy to include the site “stillalive2013” in our Guild Members list and in fact have just done exactly that. So welcome!

Please feel free to copy the member’s logo from that page and to display it on your site/blog if you wish to. As a member you are entitled to 🙂

You are also very welcome to join in any competitions that are run and to give out the Warrior Child Award to any blogger whom you feel is deserving of it. You will find details of that award on its own page within the navigation bar.

I should perhaps mention that due to many bloggers wishing to remain anonymous as a result of the stigma that still remains in respect of poor mental health and mental illness, membership to the Guild is awarded to the site/blog and not the blogger or site owner. The only ways in which this is relevant is that it means that…

      a) Guild membership does not (and therefore cannot be used to) imply or infer credibility to the person only to the site and,

      b) should you have or wish to start a further blog or blogs, membership of the Guild does not automatically transfer to that or those blogs and they must also be approved for membership.

I think that about covers it so all that remains for me to say is that if I can be of any help please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me here or through one of my personal blogs, http://www.VoicesofGlass.wordpress.com and again “welcome to our little band of bloggers!”

Kind Regards and God bless you.

      Kevin

  17. I love this idea! completely awesome!

  18. Hi Kevin,
I was wondering if my blog could also become a member?

    https://bylaurenhayley.wordpress.com/

As well as a place to showcase my art and events, I am very much focused on raising awareness, especially with BPD and Cyclothymia as these are my diagnoses.

This sounds like a great thing to be a part of! Thanks, Lauren

    • Hi Lauren,

Many thanks for getting in touch and letting me know about your site “By Lauren Hayley”.

    • Hi BarbieBF,

Thank you for letting me know. Keeping up with links is always a challenge and I do try to trawl through them all every now and then to see if they are still working.

I think the thing is that when someone loses interest in blogging or decides for whatever reason to stop, they seldom think to let us know.

Kind regards and God bless you
      KEvin

  19. I’ve recently started a blog that not only talks ablaut my personal experience with depression, anxiety, and insomnia, but looks to inform and educate any who is willing to listen. i’m trying to create a community where people can share their stories, struggles, failures, and creative work to let them know they are not alone. I would love to join if you feel my blog fits.

I run a blog about mental illness called “Dear Hope”, join the community here: wemustbebroken.wordpress.com

  20. Hey Kevin! I changed my blog (Borderline Med) to wordpress now. It’s at borderlinemed.wordpress.com and it has all the old posts from the blogspot. Take care!

  21. […] finally, my blog is being included in the Mental Health Writer’s Guild. You can view more info about having your blog included […]

  22. FYI, my tagline has changed to: “Love, Learn & Live with Bipolar Disorder”

You can use just my name, or “Kitt O’Malley – Love, Learn & Live with Bipolar Disorder”

Updating to the new logo today. About time I got around to it, since it’s almost 2016.

    Thanks!

  23. Hi there! I was wondering if my blog about needle phobia, “The Feeble Needle,” could be included in this. It’s meant to educate people about needle phobia (and phobias in general), as well as to offer solutions that have worked for me. It seems like a very under-addressed issue online, but I would love for it to be a part of this organization!

    Here’s the link: https://thefeebleneedle.wordpress.com/

Thanks! This website seems like a great resource.

    • Hi Lauren,

Given your comments about this being under-addressed online, I also wanted to mention that if you wanted to write a specific original post concerning the phobia and indeed phobias in general (ie. not one that you have previously published anywhere else,) and submit it as a possible guest post I would be more than willing to consider publishing it here on the Guild’s blog in order to raise awareness.

Kind regards and God bless you.

      Kevin

      • Thank you so much! I would definitely be interested. I’ve been disappointed when I roamed the web, because so many posts on needle phobia obviously aren’t mindful of needle phobes’ sensitivity (e.g. putting a picture of a syringe on their post, including frighteningly grim statistics, or just failing to address the issue properly).

Thank you again for including me in this!
