FDA calls on Teva to withdraw Budeprion XL 300

Apologies for the slight delay in sharing this with you.  It was due to technological difficulties and I am now playing catch up.

NBC News.com has reported that the FDA has called on the pharmaceutical company Teva Pharmaceuticals to withdraw the popular antidepressant Budeprion XL 300 from the market.

This seems, at least to this writers, to be part of a long line of drugs being pulled and companies being investigated and/or fined.

Full details of this report can be found here.

  1. thank you so much for sharing this. I am on Welbutrin, or rather I was but after reading this I looked on my bottle and found out it was this instead now.

  2. actually I just realized that my generic is a bit different than the one by Teva. But I did call my pharmacist. I am on welbuterin XL 300 but the generic I take is Bupopian XL 300 mgs and the recall does not apply to that generic at least not yet.

    • Hi Carla,

Many thanks for getting back to us on this, and I think calling the pharmacy was a wise decision.

Glad you can still use your meds but let us know if anything changes please.
      Many thanks
Kind Regards and God bless you.
      Kevin.
